Prices start from just £3.99 per month for a quarterly subscription, and are just £4.99 monthly. That's a lot of cheaper than many similar services and well less than the cost of a TV licence in the UK.
Sorry, it's just too much trouble. We set up your account personally, so it's not just an anonymous automated system. The service works 100% as promised and, if you're unhappy or change your mind for any reason we will refund your fees within 7 days of ordering.
We offer payment methods through PayPal, Google Checkout and 2Checkout.Com. All accept major credit cards.
You can cancel your subscription at any time by logging into PayPal or Google Checkout and canceling from there. We are unable to provide refunds for unused portions of the service, however, and will keep your account active for as many days as you have paid for.
If you are unhappy or having problems, let us know and we will do our best to fix it for you. The service works as described. We don't make extravagant promises we can't keep, and you will access the content of major TV web sites in the UK as described. However, there is a 7 day grace period during which you can cancel if you are unhappy for any reason.
Yes. We never see your credit card information - only the payment processors (PayPal, Google Checkout and 2Checkout.Com) can do that.
Yes. Only we have administrator rights, and the server is secure. We have no interest in your online activity unless it is requested by law by any third party. UK TV Access is a part of the ELD network. ELD is an international training institution that works in developing countries and this is one of our ways of raising funds.
If you mean 'will my local authorities know what I am doing?' we can't promise that your online activities will be impossible to trace. If you are in a country where access to unauthorised information can carry penalties, we suggest you take appropriate steps to remove traces of online activity from your computer. We do not endorse the use of this service for any activities illegal under UK law or the law of the country you are resident in. However, VPN's have a reputation for privacy and we will not track your activity - we would only provide access to the server if requested by law.
We use the PPTP protocol which is industry standard for VPN's of this type. There is no such thing as 100% security, so exercise the same caution you would if you were browsing in the UK. In particular, be careful for 'phishing' sites (sites that imitate others and ask for private information) and always ensure when conducting any transactions online that you are at a genuine site and see the SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) symbol (a small padlock in the bottom right-hand corner) before giving out personal data.
Some countries find user-driven sites such as You Tube and Facebook threatening and attempt to censor them. We do not guarantee (though other VPN's falsely claim so) that using this service will unblock sites which are banned locally. You Tube, for example, is banned in Turkey and a VPN doesn't get around this. We only guarantee that you will be able to easily access the major UK TV channels.
On the Internet, there is no such thing as 100% - just 99.9%. There may be moments when you can't get through, and times when the Internet just seems to run more slowly. Usually this will be due to other factors than our server, such as variations in your local connection speed or the number of users globally accessing the same web sites.
The service is 24/7, 7 days a week. You can use the service as much or as little as you like. There are no hidden extra charges for bandwidth. However, we do ask you to be considerate and, where possible, only connect when you need to access UK TV sites. Though we have never had any noticeable slowing of service, too many people surfing via the UK server at the same time will eventually have some impact on others' surfing experience. While we do not overload the servers with too many users and have plans to expand capacity along with user numbers, it will help everyone if you connect only when needed.
When you are connected to UKTVACCESS you will usually notice a second internet connection running in the bottom right-hand corner of your screen. You can also use a site such as http://www.whatismyip.com to see your IP address which should read 220.127.116.11. And, of course, you will know you are connected because you will be watching great British TV.
Anything you would be able to access from the UK. We 100% guarantee that you will have trouble-free access to online media from the BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Channel 5.
The USA has the same type of restrictions as the UK. You will need a VPN with a US IP address to get around this. Our VPN is for the United Kingdom.
